WordFlood stores custom synonyms in the Custom.txt file in the 'WordFlood 2.0' folder. This works great for 99% of WordFlood users, however there are 3 possible scenarios where custom synonyms that you add to the program might not be saved. They are...

1) You are not logged into Windows as "admin".

In Windows 7, Vista, or XP, you can check to make sure that you are logged in as "admin" by going to the "User Accounts" section in the Control Panel.

2) The file that WordFlood stores custom synonyms in is set to 'Read Only'.

To check this, go to 'Program Files' > 'WordFlood 2.0'. Inside the WordFlood 2.0 folder you will see a file named Custom.txt. Any custom synonyms that you save from inside WordFlood should be in this file. If they are not, close the file. Then right-click on the Custom.txt file, and choose 'Properties'. Now look at the bottom of the 'General' tab where it says 'Attributes'. Make sure 'Read Only' is NOT checked. If it is checked, WordFlood will not be able to write to the file.

3) It's possible that you have a security program with overly aggressive settings which is preventing WordFlood from writing to any files (ie the Custom.txt file). If you suspect that as a possibility, then you might try temporarily disabling your security programs (firewall, anti-virus, etc) while checking to see if WordFlood can write to the Custom.txt file in that situation.

If this appears to be the problem, then check the owners manual of your security program/s to find out how to set specific priviledges for individual programs. Most security programs allow you to control whether individual programs are allowed to write to or change other files. If this is an option, make sure that WordFlood is allowed to write to other files.
