1st) Check to make sure that you are logged into Windows as "admin". In Windows 7, Vista, or XP, you can check that by going to the "User Accounts" section in the Control Panel.

2nd) Check to see if you have a language other than English installed on your computer. This is a known bug and the primary cause for getting this error message when trying to run the program. This bug will be fixed in the next update, but for now here is the workaround...

In Windows XP, Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional & Language Options. Then click on the 'Advanced' tab. Under 'Language for non-unicode programs', make sure 'English' is selected. Then under 'Code page conversion tables', make sure no other language besides English is checked.

In Windows 7 / Vista, Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional & Language Options. Click on the 'Keyboards and Languages' tab, then click the 'Change Keyboards' button. Under the 'General' tab, make sure that English is set as the default input language, and that no other languages besides English are installed in the 'Installed services' section.
